Follow My New Medium Account

Anarchist symbol styled to look like the letter A contained in the letter C.
It’s anticontent.

I’ve felt bad for a while now. I’ve been subjecting one audience to the torture of what the other likes, and vice versa.

I don’t have many followers, but I’d like to be considerate of their time.

Separation of church and state

From this point forward, all critical political and cultural commentary will be under anticontent. It needs 100 followers to get into the Medium Partnership Program now (thanks for that arbitrary boundary that botters will get around easily, Medium!) It would be great if you’d give it a follow.

This account moving forward will be for game analysis and commentary, and my more personal musings that are tied to my actual life. The pseudonymous nature of the new account isn’t due to anonymity concerns — otherwise, I wouldn’t be writing this — but it’s just out of trying to keep the two audiences from having to see types of writing they didn’t sign up for. It’s pretty good branding, too.

But… why?

The gamer wage slave who just wants to chill out at the end of the day doesn’t want to read about the horrors of U.S. foreign policy. The political radical who wants a post-modernist critique of corporate political parties doesn’t want to read about a cool list of indie games coming out next year.

If you’re here for the game stuff and my more personal pieces of writing, then don’t bother following the new account. I’ll break 100 soon enough with my pace. This one will still be going, and you will get a more focused stream of things you like to read.

Otherwise, if you’re here for the criticisms I give of failed U.S. policies and the gross politicians who enable them, head on over to anticontent. We’ve got work to do.

This is an experiment in separating concerns. Hopefully it works out and I can get you what you like to read about more easily.
